Job Description

Port Qasim Authority (PQA), operating under the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, has announced career opportunities for qualified and motivated professionals for its Dredging Works Project. The appointments will be made on a contract basis for two years, with the possibility of extension depending on project requirements and performance.

The selected candidates will be posted at Port Qasim, Karachi, and will contribute to offshore dredging operations, hydrographic surveys, project management, financial administration, and project coordination activities.

Available Positions

1. Project Officer (01 Post)

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Maritime, Hydrography, Administration, or a related field

Experience & Skills

  • Hydrographic and dredging diploma/certification preferred

  • Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools

  • Experience in data management and reporting

  • Experience in project supervision and reporting

  • Ability to work in field and offshore environments

Age Limit

  • Up to 55 Years

2. Project Hydrographic Officer (01 Post)

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Maritime, Hydrography, or a related discipline

  • Hydrographic certification (preferably Category B) from HEC/IMO-recognized institutions preferred

Experience & Skills

  • Experience with Hypack, Hysweep, and related hydrographic survey software

  • Knowledge of dredging surveys (pre/post) and IHO standards

  • Data acquisition, processing, and management expertise

  • Bathymetric surveys and RTK GPS experience

  • Knowledge of hydrographic and navigational safety procedures

Age Limit

  • Up to 40 Years

3. Project Accountant (01 Post)

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree (16 years of education) in Finance, Accounting, Auditing, Taxation, Economics, Business Administration, or related disciplines

Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in accounting, auditing, finance, taxation, and compliance

  • Expertise in financial management systems

  • Knowledge of invoices, payments, tax matters, and financial reporting

  • Experience dealing with auditors and regulatory authorities

  • Strong documentation and reporting skills

Age Limit

  • Up to 55 Years

4. Project Duty Officer (03 Posts)

Qualification

  • Diploma/Certification from an HEC-recognized institute in a maritime-related field

Experience & Skills

  • Experience in maritime operations, navigation, port operations, hydrography, or dredging projects

  • Proficiency in MS Office

  • Strong communication and reporting skills

  • Ability to work day and night shifts

  • Knowledge of marine safety and operational procedures

  • Up to 55 Years

Employment Details

  • Contract Duration: 2 Years

  • Place of Posting: Port Qasim, Karachi

  • Salary Package: Lump Sum Package

  • Extension Possible Based on Performance and Project Requirements
