PMDC, a state-owned enterprise under the Ministry of Energy, Petroleum Division, invites applications for the position of Senior Associate (Geophysics). This role focuses on geophysical exploration, data analysis, and project management in the minerals and mining sector. Candidates from Balochistan, KPK, and Islamabad will be given preference.

Eligibility

  • Qualification: 4-year BS in Geophysics (MS preferred) from an HEC-recognized institution

  • Experience: 3–4 years post-qualification experience in geophysical surveys, QC, and processing

  • Age Limit: Maximum 33 years on the closing date of the advertisement

  • Skills: Operation of geophysical instruments, data analysis software, and geophysical survey techniques

Key Responsibilities

  1. Plan and execute geophysical exploration programs using ERT, EM, magnetic, gravity, and other techniques.

  2. Process and interpret geophysical datasets for resource evaluation and subsurface mapping.

  3. Develop integrated 2D and 3D subsurface models combining geological and geophysical data.

  4. Support field operations including survey planning, data collection, and equipment use.

  5. Manage geophysical databases with proper validation, metadata tagging, and workflow improvements.

  6. Use analytical tools such as Oasis Montaj and automation software for reporting.

  7. Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for management and project teams.

  8. Contribute to project planning and delivery management, ensuring tracking of timelines and risks.

  9. Stay updated on advancements in geophysical methods, technologies, and industry best practices.

  10. Ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations governing geophysical operations.
