Job Description

KOEN AJ&K Pakistan is seeking a qualified and experienced Shift Control Engineer for its Gulpur Hydropower Plant in Barali, Kotli, Azad Kashmir. The selected candidate will be responsible for supervising, monitoring, and operating the power plant through SCADA systems while ensuring reliable and efficient plant operations.

The role requires close coordination with grid stations, maintenance teams, and operational staff to maintain smooth power generation activities and respond effectively to emergency situations.

Educational Qualification

  • BS Engineering in:

    • Mechanical Engineering

    • Electrical Engineering

    • Electronics Engineering

    • Mechatronics Engineering

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, monitor, and operate the power plant through SCADA systems.

  • Assist the Shift Charge Engineer in daily plant operations.

  • Coordinate with ISMO/RCC/NGC and grid stations regarding switching operations and plant status.

  • Support emergency response and operational troubleshooting activities.

  • Identify and report plant defects and coordinate maintenance requirements.

  • Assist in maintaining safe and efficient plant operations during system disturbances.

  • Prepare daily generation reports and operational logs.

  • Submit declarations and reports to NPCC as required.

  • Ensure compliance with SOPs, operational procedures, and safety standards.

  • Perform additional duties assigned by management.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in power plant operations.

  • Strong knowledge of:

    • Generators

    • Turbines

    • GIS Systems

    • Power Transformers

    • Emergency Diesel Generators (EDGs)

    • Associated plant equipment

  • Experience operating power plants through SCADA systems.

  • Knowledge of operational data recording, DAC/RDAC declarations, and PTW procedures.

  • Familiarity with safety protocols, SOPs, and LOTO procedures.
