The Sindh Mass Transit Authority (SMTA), under the Government of Sindh, has invited applications from qualified and experienced consulting firms/consultants for the position of Construction Supervision Consultant for the Karachi Mobility Project (Yellow Line Bus Rapid Transit - BRT). The project is financed by the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) under Project No. PK-SMTA-547227-CS-INDV and aims to improve Karachi's urban public transportation system.

Position

Construction Supervision Consultant

This consultancy assignment involves supervising the construction activities of the Yellow Line BRT Project and ensuring that all engineering works comply with approved technical specifications, quality standards, contractual obligations, and project timelines.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should possess:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering from an HEC-recognized university.

  • Valid registration with the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC).

  • Extensive experience in construction supervision of large infrastructure or transportation projects.

  • Knowledge of FIDIC Conditions of Contract.

  • Experience in Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), highways, bridges, urban transport, or similar infrastructure projects.

  • Strong understanding of project management, quality assurance, safety standards, and engineering supervision.

Preference will be given to candidates having experience with internationally funded development projects.

Key Responsibilities

The selected consultant will be responsible for:

  • Supervising civil construction activities.

  • Monitoring contractor performance.

  • Ensuring compliance with engineering designs and technical specifications.

  • Managing quality assurance and quality control.

  • Reviewing construction schedules and project progress.

  • Preparing technical reports and recommendations.

  • Coordinating with contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders.

  • Ensuring compliance with environmental and safety standards.
