Job Description

The Human Rights Department, Government of Sindh, is inviting applications from highly qualified and experienced professionals for the position of Communication Specialist (Environment and Climate) MP-III in the Treaty Implementation Cell (TIC). The selected candidate will support environmental and climate-related initiatives, treaty implementation activities, policy communication, research, documentation, and reporting functions within the department.

The appointment will be made on a contract basis under the Sindh Management Positions Policy and offers an excellent opportunity for professionals with expertise in environmental sciences, climate change, international environmental conventions, and policy communication.

Location: Karachi, Sindh

Qualification & Experience

Candidates must possess one of the following qualifications:

Option 1

  • PhD in Environmental Science

  • Minimum 4 years of professional experience in a relevant field

Option 2

  • Master’s Degree in Environmental Science

  • Minimum 8 years of experience dealing with environment and climate change issues

Additional Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience working on UN Environmental and Climate Change Conventions

  • Strong research, documentation, and report-writing skills

  • Experience in preparing reports related to UN conventions will be considered an advantage

  • Ability to work on policy, environmental governance, and climate-related initiatives

Pay Package

Salary and benefits will be provided according to the Revision of Management Position Scales (MP-I, MP-II and MP-III) issued by the Finance Department, Government of Sindh.

Contract Duration

  • Initial contract period: 2 Years

  • Extendable for an additional 2 years on an annual basis

  • Extension subject to satisfactory performance
